Top Astrocartography mistakes to avoid

There’s a plethora of misinformation online about so many different things, one of them being Astrocartography. For this reason, I’ve decided to dedicate today’s article to the biggest Astrocartography mistakes and misconceptions that we should all be aware of.

Mistake #1: Only focusing on the Astrocartography (ACG) lines

When reading Astrocartography, it’s important to consider all of its components. The ACG lines are just one piece of the puzzle, it’s also very necessary to look at relocated charts, paran crossings, and local space lines.

Also, when looking at the lines, take note of which birth chart angle it’s falling on (The Ascendant, Imum Coeli, Descendant, or Midheaven.)

Mistake #2: Automatically believing that a certain line is either good or bad

Astrocartography is actually way more complex than this. Whether a specific ACG line is supportive or not depends on several factors, such as the condition of a planet, luminary, or celestial body in a person’s birth chart, and the kind of energy that person is looking to attract at the present moment.

Moreover, it’s necessary to acknowledge that malefic planets (Mars & Saturn) could manifest positively or negatively and same goes for benefic planets (Venus & Jupiter.) All of the planets are associated with traits that can be challenging or rewarding.

Mistake #3: Not taking timing into consideration

We should be asking ourselves, “is this the place I should relocate to right now?” There’s always a lot going on with us astrologically. Our lives are in a state of flux, and so we should always look into our progressed birth chart, our solar return chart, and transits to get a better grasp of the current vibe and what we need.

Mistake #4: Relying exclusively on Astrocartography to choose where to move

Astrocartography is an indispensable tool to use to plan your moves and travels. Despite this, focusing on some of the more practical factors is a must! It’s helpful to identify your non-negotiables, understand what experiences you’re seeking out, and consider logistical factors before making your decision.

Mistake #5: Expecting perfection out of a location

Contrary to popular belief, Astrocartography will not help you find your perfect location, because perfection doesn’t exist!

Astrocartography is about finding your most supportive places with energies you can work with.

Mistake #6: Leaving is the only option when it comes to a difficult location

This one is quite controversial in the Astrocartography world. I just don’t like absolutes and I think that in some cases that yes, it’s probably best to relocate if you can, but other times it’s necessary for the person to understand the energies that are at play and how to make the most of the situation. Challenging transits can put a damper on you in any location, so it’s always important to look into those. Finally, looking into local space lines can help you determine whether the neighborhood or area you’re living in is supportive or not.
